Christkindlmarkt – Christmas Bazaar at the PHOENIX Club, Nov 26th ! (SoCal)

Enjoy Christmas shopping, enjoy some lunch, or just spend the time with friends and a glass of Glühwein at the Phoenix Club Christkindlmarkt. In the tradition of the famous holiday markets of Germany, a wide variety of products and German holiday specialties are on sale. Jewelry, Crystal, German Imports, Baked goods,  Arts and crafts, Music Imports and much much more. This year the Christkindlmarkt will be located in the Grand Ballroom. The Bierstube and Loreley restaurant will also be open.

Gingerbread Decorating Contest at GermanSchoolCampus, Newport Beach (SoCal)

Everyones is welcome to the Gingerbread House decorating contest on December 2ndfrom 3pm-5pm. This is a joint event with Ute’s Kinder Schule happening at German School Campus in Newport Beach.  Students compete within their age groups K-12 and win prizes for the best decorated Ginger Bread House. Every year this event proofs to be a lot of fun. So if you’d like to participate contact the school immediately to have your spot reserved!  The cost is $25 per person to cover material expenses.

German Holiday Market at Albert Einstein Academies in San Diego, Dec 3rd. (SoCal)

Albert Einstein Academies has a German Holiday Market on December 3th from 11am-3pm.  Please join our 1400 AEA students and their families again for this great fundraising event to support our German Programs at Albert Einstein Academies.
We will have traditional German foods like potato pancakes, brats, freshly baked waffles, beverages and yummy baked goods, gingerbread hearts, etc.
Super cool hands-on-kids-craft-stations, sand art, face paint, “Winter traditions around the World”- interactive information booth,
live music and performances, professional carolers, 50:50 raffle, a tombola with lots of great prices to win for kids and adults, over 40 local vendors selling holiday gifts, a steam train ride with music and much more.

Kinder Weihnachtsfeier – Children’s Christmas Party, PHOENIX CLUB – Dec 3rd  (SoCal)

In the spirit of the Christmas season, the German-American School Association, the German-American League, and the Phoenix Club are jointly hosting this wonderful Children’s Christmas Party, which you are sure to enjoy.  The Phoenix Club Youth Dance Group will perform a “Christmas Eve Ballet” and the German School Students will present traditional Christmas poems and songs. St. Nicholas has let us know that he’ll be at the Phoenix Club to hear all the children’s wishes and he’ll be available for photos!  We’re already excited about all the nice things he and his helpers will bring. The event will be held in the Grand Ballroom. Christmas treats, snack bar and cocktails will be available.

Sacramento Turn Verein Christkindlmarkt

Annual Christkindlmarkt at the Sacramento Turn Verein in Sacramento.  December 3rd, 11am-5pm

18th Annual Christkindlmarkt. Benefiting multiple charities in the Sacramento area. Christmas Music, Arts, Crafts, Ornaments, Cookies and Cakes for sale, Nürnberg sausage dinner, Gluhwein, Authentic Saint Nick.

In the tradition of the German outdoor Christmas Markets, the Sacramento Turn Verein offers the community an annual Christkindlmarkt for holiday shopping and entertainment. Highlights of this festive weekend-long event include:

  • A varity of booths featuring local vendors
    – Lebkuchen and Magenbrot, traditional German baked Christmas treats
    -Glühwein, also known as mulled wine
    -Daily appearances of Santa Claus and the German Christkind

Cost: Free with a coat donation; otherwise, $3.

Inspired by the Christkindlesmarkt in Nürnberg, Germany, Ludwig’s German Table in San Jose will host a Christmas Market on December 3rd, 10am-6pm. A family event, there will be arts & crafts, Glühwein, Bratwurst vom Grill, homemade Cakes and Stollen. Germania Verein will be singing Christmas Carols.

Advents Konzerte  und WeihnachtsGottesdienste – German Church Service

Dec. 17th – St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in La Mesa (SoCal)

German Christmas Carol Service St. Luke’s Lutheran Church bietet einen deutschsprachigen Weihnachtsgottesdienst an, der am 17. Dezember 2017 um 19.00 Uhr stattfinden wird.

Alle sind herzlich eingeladen. Die Gottesdienstordnung besteht hauptsächlich aus Lesungen und Liedern, die die Weihnachtsgeschichte erzählen. Wenn man eine der Bibellesungen vorlesen will, sagen Sie mir, bitte, vorher Bescheid, entweder per E-Mail-Adresse oder per St. Luke’s Webseite!
