New German Preschool in Orange County Enrolling Students for 2013/2014

September 4, 2013 by Cornelia 1 Comment

September has come and most of the children in California are back to school. While German-speaking parents in the greater areas of Los Angeles, and San Francisco have a few choices regarding sending their children to a bilingual German preschool /Kindergarten, Orange County in SoCal puts the parents to a test in finding other solutions for having their child speak and learn German.

A great option this year will be a new little German Kindergarten in Irvine which is opening doors for children ages 3-6 years old!

Ute’s KinderSchule in Woodbridge, Irvine

Locate on the beautiful South Lake in Irvine the new German KinderSchule will start its 2013/14 school year on September 9th. Offering a  German immersion program embedded in a German Kindergarten system,  Orange County families now have another option for their child to learn German from an early age on.

The school offers a nurturing home environment and is based on the Rudolf Steiner philosophy to teach the whole child: mind, body & soul. Activities throughout the day will include practical math & creative ABC, arts & crafts, music & movement as well as cooking and nature walks among many other activities.

Ute’s KinderSchule is offering full and part-time programs. Enrollment for the school year 2013/14 has started. School begins on Sept. 9th, 2013 and ends June 20th, 2014.  Enrollment is limited to 12 children for this academic year!

For Ute Chiu, this is a dream come true. Since growing up in Schwerte, North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) she always wanted to open a small Kindergarten one day. Ute has several diplomas in childhood education among which are also diplomas from Germany in “Erzieherin” and “Sozialpädagogie” . In Germany she was also principal of an AWO Kindergarten.

For the last 20 years she has raised her own family here in Southern California and during the last 7 years she was the teacher for a German Kindergarten Class at a private school in Orange County. Over the years she met so many families in Orange County who were desperately looking for alternatives in German preschools in the SoCal area. Now with her own children grown up her daughters reminded her of her long time wish to open a small preschool of her own and she went for it:
