German-Language TV Channel Opens Up Online Subscriptions For US Audiences

August 6, 2014 by Cornelia Leave a Comment

ProSiebenSat.1-Welt

ProSiebenSat.1 Welt, a German-language TV channel consisting of programs from Germany’s Sat.1, ProSieben and kabel eins, began offering programming to U.S. Dish Network audiences in 2005, but now a new subscription streaming service has been launched for anyone in the U.S. that has an internet connection.

For €7.90 (about $11 USD) a month, you can watch live TV or catchup on previous programs, including “Der letzte Bulle”, “Bundesliga-Magazin” and “Abenteuer Ferne” on your computer, phone or tablet.

Right now, ProSiebenSat.1 Welt is offering new customers a one week free trial to see what the subscription streaming service has to offer. If you decide you like the service once the trial is over, you can opt in to the monthly subscription.

This is the first German TV streaming service of its kind being offered in the United States that does not require existing cable or satellite subscriptions. If you are interested in checking out some German-language TV, the free trial seems like a great deal.
