Weihnachtswunsch (Ein Gedicht)

December 24, 2017 by Cornelia Leave a Comment

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas with a merry Poem by Julia Eichberger! Wir wünschen allen ein friedvolles und gesegnetes Weihnachtsfest mit einem Gedicht von Julia Eichberger!

Weihnachtswunsch

.
(Ein Gedicht von Julia Eichberger)

.

Unter jedem Kerzenschein

sollen Glück und Liebe sein,

dass in jedem Heim

die Heiterkeit kehrt ein.

Unter jedem Tannenbaum

erfüllen soll sich jeder Traum;

der von mehr Zeit

und  von weniger Leid.

Unter jedem Dach der Welt;

Familie, die zusammenhält.

Kummer und Harm soll’n schwinden

und sind nie mehr zu finden.

Weihnachtseindrücke (Ein Gedicht)

Weihnachtseindrücke

(Ein Gedicht von Julia Eichberger)

.

Die Engel singen sanfte Lieder,

leise fällt der Schnee hernieder.

Glöckchen klingen überall

Fröhlich Klang im Weihnachtsschall.

Knirschend versinken meine Füße

in der watt’gen weißen Decke.

Süßer Duft  – in jeder Ecke

verteil‘ ich weihnachtliche Grüße.

Lichter leuchten meinen Weg,

auf den ich mich stets begeb‘.

Zart zerschmilzt der Stern,

bleibt mir für immer fern.

.

Frohe Weihnachten – Happy Holidays

December 24, 2015 by Cornelia Leave a Comment

Merry Christmas –

Wir wünschen ein Frohes Fest !

2015-Xmas

HEILIGABEND

(A Poem by Dieter Kermas)

.

Nun war der Heiligabend da,

und ich fragte meine Omama,

was sie bekam als kleines Kind,

und sie sagte darauf geschwind,

dass eine Puppenstube war ihr Traum,

und die stand unterm Weihnachtsbaum.

Ihr Bruder sah dann voller Stolz,

eine Ritterburg für sich aus Holz.

Wie haben sie sich da gefreut,

doch ganz anders ist es heut.

Nur neuste Technik wollen die Knaben,

und auch schon die Mädchen haben.

Schicke Handys, Spielkonsolen,

muss der Weihnachtsmann nun holen.

Computer sind auch heiß gefragt,

hat der Weihnachtsmann gesagt.

Manche von den Techniksachen,

findet Oma recht zum Lachen.

Wenn ein Stoffhund nur dann bellt,

wenn er eine Batterie erhält.

Der Kinder Freude hält nicht lange,

da wird der Oma jetzt schon bange.

Bald sind die Batterien leer,

dann ist es auch kein Spielzeug mehr.

Sie waren kurz nur drauf versessen

Schon liegt es rum und ist vergessen.

Viel länger hielten Puppenstuben

und auch die Burgen für die Buben.

.

Frohe Weihnacht – Merry Christmas

December 24, 2011 by Cornelia Leave a Comment

The tradition of Christmas Eve in Germany, Austria and Switzerland

Many countries around the world celebrate Christmas in different ways and on different days. In Germany, Austria and the German part of Switzerland it is custom to celebrate Christmas on the evening of December 24th, and many families end the holy night with the midnight mass at local churches. In contrary to the American Christmas Eve parties the celebration is one mostly with only the immediate family. The days of the 25th and 26th are the days to visit other relatives and close friends and celebrate with them as well.

December 24th is also often the day when the Christmas tree is festively decorated together with the whole family and some pay a last visit to the Christkindel markets, which close that afternoon until next year’s Christmas season.

Who will bring the presents to the children in Germany? Well, this depends if one is from the south or the north. The children in the north of Germany traditionally have the “Weihnachtsmann” similar to Father Christmas bring the gifts in the evening, whereas in the
south of Germany, and also in Austria, children are waiting for the “Christkind” (Christ Child) to bring them presents.

With this CaliforniaGermans wishes you all a wonderful Merry Christmas, Fröhliche Weihnachten, and a prosperous and happy New Year!

If you would like to know where you can find a German Christmas Eve church service in your neighborhood, please follow the link to the German Consulate.

Happy Holidays!
