Our 4th XMAS gift book tip is a book for children!
Tesha Discovers The World by Claudia Tichy, was written, “for the tender children’s souls, keeping in mind the healing power over disease, fears, and other burdens.”
If you follow our monthly XPAT Spotlight interviews, you might remember our November interview with Claudia, where she tells us about the various healing therapies she’s specialized in. They are much sought after in Europe, and now are available here in California.
In fact, the idea for the book “Tesha Discovers The World” came about through Claudia’s work with children in Family Constellations, established in this particular form by Bert Hellinger.
CAG: You mention the stories in Tesha are about healing and go beyond the regular storytelling. Can you explain this more in detail?
Claudia: “In order to not disturb the deeper effect of these stories they are told without intentions. Nevertheless, various methods of resolution to certain diseases and symptoms are mentioned. Some hidden, some visible, some palpable, but in all cases effective for all, who read these stories since we all bear a child’s soul in us. The exact placement of the messages will, therefore, stay hidden to the readers of this book.”
CAG: You are emotionally very connected to this book. Tesha is not just an invented character. Tesha actually had touched your life. Please tell us more.
Claudia: Yes, Tesha really existed. She was a little Golden Retriever puppy in a puppy shelter. She had survived a dramatic birth as the only one of a litter of nine. However, she was very weak and traumatized. For some reason, I felt deeply connected to this little creature from the very first time I had set my eyes on her. I even had named her already even though she wasn’t mine yet and should never make it to live with us in the end. The name I chose was Tesha, which means ‘nine’ in Hebraic, a number that has a lot of meaning for me in my life. After we found out that she didn’t have the strength to survive, I promised little Tesha that I would write down her life’s story, that she was never allowed to actually live herself.
CAG: The book has touched many children’s hearts. To that extent, that the drawings in the book are actually done by a passionate little admirer of Tesha. How did this all come about?
Claudia: The story of the pictures in the book is, that one day a client of mine saw my stories and asked me if she could read all of them to her little grandchild. Lisa, who then was 7 years old, fell in love with the stories about Tesha and was so fond of them, that she devotedly spent hours drawing the pictures for my stories. What I didn’t know then was that little Lisa actually was suffering from some illness and after she had painted all the pictures her health problems seemed to have subsided. That showed me just how powerful these stories can be as an element of healing. These are stories that are gently touching the soul.

– Eliza with Mom and Dad –
One day, while Eliza was daydreaming, somebody suddenly prodded and startled her.
A quite strange looking young, male dog was standing in front of her. Eliza has truly never ever seen someone like him. “Who are you and whatever are you looking for under my tree?” she asked.
“Your tree?” the boy asked. “Don’t make me laugh, that’s the best joke ever hahaha, hihihi !” and he rolled around in an enchantingly funny way and one could see how much fun he had doing that.
Eliza immediately liked the young dog. “So tell me who are you and where do you come from? I have never seen you around!” she said again. …..
